Charminar 

This is by far the most popular tourist attraction in Hyderabad. Built-in 1591 by Sultan Mohammed Quli Qutb Shah, the structure is about 56 metres in height. It is called “Charminar” as it is bordered by 4 towers on each corner of its area. On the top floor of the Charminar lies a mosque while in total the structure has about 45 praying spaces. Today, it is often visited on Fridays for prayer.

Qutub Shahi Tombs 

Built with a hybrid of Persian and Indian architecture, the Qutub Shahi tombs hold great historical significance as they represent the tombs of 7 Qutub Shahi rulers. These are one of the oldest heritage sites in the city of Hyderabad. Qutub Shahi tombs are built of grey granite with beautiful designs and are always a delight to look at. 

Laad Bazaar

The Qutub Shahi kings did more than just build tombs for themselves! About 11 km away from the main city the Golkonda fort still makes up a popular tourist destination in Hyderabad. The fort has a magnificent structure and walls as high as 18 feet. Forts in general make a great place for excursion trips as they are humongous and perfect to trail along. 

Hussain Sugar Lake
